Join us April 27 for a reading featuring the Nebraska State Poet Laureate, Twyla Hanson

BWP April 2016All are welcome to join us for this special reading event to celebrate National Poetry Month.

The reading will be held on the campus of the University of Nebraska, Omaha at the Community Engagement Center, 2nd floor, in the OPPD Dialogue Room.

Bios of the readers:

Twyla M. Hansen is Nebraska’s State Poet. Her book, Dirt Songs: A Plains Duet was Winner – 2012 Nebraska Book Award, and Finalist – WILLA Literary Award and High Plains Book Award. Previous books include Potato Soup, Winner – 2004 Nebraska Book Award. Her writing has appeared in Prairie Schooner, Midwest Quarterly, South Dakota Review, Organization & Environment, Encyclopedia of the Great Plains, Crazy Woman Creek, and Contemporary Reader for Creative Writing, among many others.

Tim Hunt’s publications include Fault Lines (2009, The Backwaters Press) and The Tao of Twang (2014, CW Books); and poems in such journals as CutBank, Epoch, Quarterly West, and Rhino. Twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize, he has been awarded the Chester H. Jones National Poetry Prize for “Lake County Elegy.” His third collection, Poem’s Poems & Other Poems, will be published in 2016 by CW Books. He is currently University Professor of English at Illinois State University. He and his wife Susan live in Normal, which is a place as well as, some have said, a state of mind.
